Estimate a Perth taxi meter fare using road distance, estimated journey time and Western Australia metropolitan maximum fare inputs. This informational calculator covers rank or hail taxi estimates and does not create or confirm a booking.
Special time surcharges are selected automatically from the Perth travel date and time. Add a call-out fee, non-cash surcharge estimate, airport-rank fee, extra waiting time or another permitted charge only when it applies. Providers may set fares below the regulated maximum schedule.
Compare Perth’s weekday daytime taxi fares with representative tariffs across Australia using the same 8 km trip and 5 minutes of waiting.

A Perth taxi fare normally begins with an initial hiring charge, also known as the flagfall. The meter then adds a distance charge and may apply a detention or waiting-time charge during delays or slow sections of the journey.
The basic calculation is:
Initial charge + distance charge + waiting or detention time + applicable fees and surcharges
The selected travel date and time are important because Perth has different initial charges for weekday daytime journeys and night, weekend or public-holiday journeys. A higher tariff may also apply when five or more passengers travel together or when a larger taxi is specifically requested.
Transport WA regulates the maximum amounts that may be charged for rank-and-hail taxi services in the metropolitan region. Individual on-demand booking services may set fares at or below these maximum amounts, so the published rates should not be treated as one compulsory fixed price for every operator.
A calculator estimate may include or exclude certain additional charges depending on the information entered and the type of journey.
A call-out fee of up to $1.90 may apply when a taxi is requested. This fee cannot be added when a guaranteed booking fee is already payable for the same hire.
An additional $4.50 ultra-peak surcharge may apply:

Enter a complete street address, hotel, attraction, suburb or Perth Airport terminal. A precise address produces a better route estimate than a general suburb name.
Add the exact drop-off address. The calculator uses the pickup and destination to estimate the road distance and journey duration.
Choose when the journey is expected to begin. This helps determine whether the weekday daytime, night, weekend, public-holiday or ultra-peak fare rules may apply.
Select a standard taxi for a normal passenger journey. Select the large-vehicle option when five or more passengers will travel or when a larger taxi is specifically required.
Check the fare range, estimated distance and expected journey duration. Treat the result as a planning guide rather than a confirmed fare.
